Green Building

Mike Kerwin Homes is dedicated to working with its customers in building homes that are energy efficient and have less of an impact upon our environment.  We are always interested in finding and using new techniques in the construction of our homes that will provide our customers with a more energy efficient and a "greener" product.

There are many things to consider in building a green home.  Among these, a sampling of items with which we can help in your building project would be site orientation, low VOC Paints, recycled products, engineered lumbers, dual fuel or geothermal heating, the SEER rating on your heat pumps, and the best Energy Star appliances.

One area that we have adopted and recommend to all of our customers is the Icynene foam insulation.  We encourage that you discover for yourself the benefits of this technique.
